How well do you know our local history?
Compete and find out with a local history trivia night on Thursday, March 14 at Sabbatical Brewing Co.
The contest consists of three rounds of trivia, with 12 questions in each round. Each round of trivia is focused on a specific local history topic. Space is limited, so reserve your team early! Each team should bring a tablet device to digitally answer the trivia questions.
Teams can consist of no more than 6 members. Themed dressed groups and props are encouraged!
The cost is $100.00 per team.
Doors open at 6pm, and the contest starts at 6:30 pm.
The event typically ends around 8:30 pm.
Cash bar available. MCHS will have snacks to share but feel free to bring your own favorites as well!
Cash prizes will be awarded for First Place ($100), Second Place ($75), and Third Place ($50). Additional giveaways will also take place throughout the evening.
Funds raised will strengthen the mission of the Manitowoc County Historical Society and its education programs.
Only 1 person from each team should register. Teams can consist of no more than 6 members. Fee is due at the time of registration. Advanced registration is required.

Less than one month after the charter was approved, Manitowoc elected its first mayor, Peter Johnson. He presided over the construction of the city’s first iron bridge, the creation of a new cemetery, sanitary cisterns for fresh water, and city sewers. One of the most important new city departments, however, was the recently expanded fire department, which purchased several horse-drawn engines during 1871 just in time for the greatest fire of the century.
